- Parachute Installation Guide for Paraglider Harnesses
by Betty Pfeiffer

High
Energy Sports Quantum Series Parachutes. Your parachute has the bridles
rubber-banded so there are no twists in the system. To install this
into a paragliding harness I suggest the following steps:
- Attach
the bridle to the shoulder parachute connectors on the harness taking
care not to twist the risers. Both colored tabs should be facing
the same direction. The tabs indicate which risers have the center
line attached.
- Cut
off the rubber bands and lay the parachute into the parachute container.
If it is already in a "snap on container", attach it to
the side or front of your harness.
- Route
the bridle from the harness connectors at the shoulders to the parachute
container. Stow any excess bridle in the parachute container. Be
sure the bridle is routed in such a way as not to tangle with the
paraglider if dropped during deployment.
- If
you are using a front or side mounted parachute container be sure
all 4 risers of the bridle is routed to one side of you and splits
to the shoulders in the back.
- Check
the handle to be sure the pins can release when you pull the handle.
If your parachute safety locks (curved pins) seem to slip out too
easily, tighten the bungee holder.
- If
you have any questions or concerns call me before you fly this system.
Your
QS parachute has a 4-riser system. If you are under canopy and drifting
towards power lines or other hazards, pull down on the riser attached
to the quadrant of the parachute facing the direction you wish to travel.
This will feel like you are doing a chin-up on the riser, but you will
be able to decrease the performance of that quadrant of your parachute
and slip away from the hazard.
Good
luck, and thanks for choosing High Energy Sports.
Fly
Safely,
